Garry oak. Arbutus. Cedar. Maple. In the right hands, ordinary driftwood from a beach or branches from a dark forest floor can become functional, beautiful, art. Fred's walking sticks are a custom, detailed process, that starts with finding the right wood and carries through to the sanding, carving, detailing and finishing. Each piece is different - some have faces and shapes, others just accentuate the gnarled crevices of the original wood. Every one is given a hand-written tag describing the wood and process.
